Legislators are increasing many civil traffic penalties to raise $16 million and offset cuts to courts, prosecutors and public defenders.
Even with the fees, local courts will have their budgets trimmed 1.3 percent.
The penalties go into effect Feb. 1 and may be higher in some cases because cities and counties can add extra charges.
